Pretportret

Pretportret is the creative practice of Martin van Gelder, a caricaturist whose work spans live drawing, commissioned portraits and sculptural creations. He makes caricatures in a variety of formats, from drawings on beer mats to clay heads, and creates portraits based on photographs. Martin is also increasingly engaged as a live cartoonist, bringing visual humor and quick observations into brainstorms and other meetings.

During these sessions, he draws cartoons inspired by the subjects and ideas being discussed, offering a distinctive way to capture the conversation as it unfolds. His services include caricatures drawn on location, caricatures from photos, live cartooning, digital live caricature, illustrations and cartoons, and live 3D clay heads. The range combines traditional caricature with digital and three-dimensional work, making the practice suited to different settings and formats.
