About PriEco Search Engine
PriEco is an independent, open-source web search engine based in the European Union, designed to put user privacy and control first. It offers general-purpose web search and maintains its own independent index, which the site says contains more than 400 million web pages. PriEco is free to use and can be set as a browser’s default search engine, with a shortcut option for convenient access.
The service says it does not track or profile users, log IP addresses, store search histories, or sell or share personal data. Its software is open source under the AGPL v3 license, and users can inspect or contribute to the code, hosted on Codeberg. PriEco is written in Rust and reports that its efficient software runs entirely on renewable energy. The brand also highlights European infrastructure and its aim to become less reliant on third-party search indexes. Additional resources include a privacy policy, roadmap, uptime information, Mastodon presence, and an onion-domain option.
