Prietenii Muzeului National de Arta al Romaniei

Prietenii MNAR is a community of Romanian and international volunteers and companies formed to support the National Museum of Art of Romania. Bringing together curious, enthusiastic and engaged people, the organisation helps strengthen the museum’s connection with the public and encourages visitors to explore its collections beyond an occasional visit.

The group supports heritage acquisitions, brings people closer to the museum’s artworks and creates cultural experiences designed to make art accessible and memorable. Members and visitors can discover museum events, behind-the-scenes perspectives and activities that offer a different way to experience the institution. The organisation also shares stories about the collections and highlights spaces such as the Museum’s Oriental Art Gallery, inviting audiences to encounter the beauty and mystery of its works.

Through completed and ongoing projects, news, events and video materials, Prietenii MNAR promotes engagement with art and the museum’s activities. Its message is that art lives not only in framed works, but also in the people who care about it.
