About Prince Claus Fund
The Prince Claus Fund is a brand dedicated to supporting, honoring, and connecting artists and cultural practitioners in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe. Established in 1996 as a tribute to HRH Prince Claus, the fund recognizes the vital role of culture in the development of societies. Their mission is to create a world where cultural expression is both free and valued.
The fund provides various opportunities for connection and exchange, stimulates cultural expression, and preserves cultural heritage. They support artists and cultural practitioners through a series of three different Awards, specifically designed to address the unique needs at different stages of a creative career. The Prince Claus Fund is accredited with ANBI status and a CBF seal of approval.
This recognition ensures that the fund complies with strict quality requirements and is transparent in its activities and financial management. With support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Dutch Postcode Lottery, and private individuals and institutions, the fund collaborates with like-minded organizations to promote trustworthy fundraising and expenditure.
