Princeville Ranch

Princeville Ranch is a horseback riding destination on Kauaʻi’s North Shore, offering English and Western riding lessons for children and adults. The ranch’s lesson program is grounded in natural horsemanship, with a holistic approach that emphasizes rider education, horse health, and a respectful partnership between horse and rider. Lessons generally last one to two hours and are available Tuesday through Saturday, with times arranged by contacting the ranch.

Riders can book individual lessons or choose multi-lesson packages, which support ongoing skill development. Instruction is led by Eileen Donohue, a veterinary technician and certified riding instructor, or a trained assistant. Participants must be at least four years old and weigh no more than 240 pounds; lessons are not suitable for pregnant participants or those with recent injuries or surgeries.

Helmets are provided and required for riders aged 17 and under. Lessons take place rain or shine, subject to safety conditions, and require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations
