Prior Chest Nuts

The Prior Chest Nuts is an Arnprior community dragon boat team made up of breast cancer survivors. Formed in 2010, the team brings paddlers together for sport, recreation, education and competition, while promoting wellness and a healthy lifestyle after breast cancer. Its mission also includes educating families, healthcare professionals and the wider public about breast cancer survivorship and dragon boat racing.

The team practices twice a week at White Lake Marina, developing its paddling skills and preparing to take part in festivals and community events. Since its first season, the Prior Chest Nuts have competed at dragon boat festivals across Ontario and internationally, including in Sarasota, Florida, and Florence, Italy. The team also participates in local fundraising and community activities, such as seasonal events and a tea and fashion show.
