Prisenda Writers Residency

Prisenda Writers Residency Initiative (PWRI) is a transformative organization established in 2018 with the mission of enhancing literacy and its creative applications to foster sustainable development across Africa. PWRI provides a nurturing environment for writers, offering residencies that encourage impactful literary creation. The organization runs several key programs, including a comprehensive Reading Hub that boasts an extensive e-library and encourages a vibrant reading culture.

PWRI also champions young writers through its Budding Authors Programme, which features workshops, poetry slams, and storytelling competitions aimed at mentoring emergent talent. The initiative actively participates in literacy outreach, organizing campaigns and donating books to underserved communities to broaden access to reading materials. Furthermore, PWRI supports African authors by facilitating their participation in book fairs and international literary events. Through its multifaceted approach, PWRI empowers individuals to leverage reading and writing as essential tools for personal and societal growth, making a significant impact in the literary landscape of Africa.
