PRISSEM

PRISSEM Academic Services, LLC supports science, technology, engineering, and mathematics faculty and administrators at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Its work is centered on strengthening HBCU STEM excellence through research development, grant development, and faculty development. The company draws on research into the experiences of HBCU STEM faculty, as well as experience as both recipients and reviewers of National Science Foundation grants to HBCUs.

Its workshops include NSF-focused sessions on programs such as HBCU Excellence in Research, Targeted Infusion Projects, Research Initiation Awards, Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER), and research on broadening participation in STEM. The company emphasizes understanding the varied priorities of HBCU faculty, including research, student care, and institutional responsibilities. With published research on the HBCU faculty experience and a stated commitment to long-term, trusting relationships, PRISSEM works with institutions ranging from research-intensive universities to smaller liberal arts colleges to support faculty success.
