About Privacy Guides
Privacy Guides is a socially motivated website that aims to educate and inform the public about the importance of digital privacy. Our mission is to provide valuable information and recommendations for protecting your data security and privacy online. Operated entirely by volunteer team members and contributors, Privacy Guides is a non-profit collective that is free from advertisements and not affiliated with any listed providers.
Our platform offers a wide range of knowledge and recommendations on various topics related to privacy and security. From threat modeling and common misconceptions to technology essentials and operating systems, we cover it all. Additionally, we provide recommendations on privacy tools such as VPNs, email services, search engines, and more.
Recognizing the need for independent and criteria-focused product recommendations, Privacy Guides was launched in September 2021 as a continuation of the defunct PrivacyTools project. We have since made improvements to our website framework and launched an international translation initiative to reach a broader audience.
