The Regional Civil Protection Service of Madeira (SRPC, IP-RAM) is the regional public service responsible for preventing risks associated with major accidents and disasters and supporting preparedness and response across the Autonomous Region of Madeira. Its work brings together risk assessment, prevention, emergency planning, public information and coordination with firefighters and other civil protection agents.
The service provides training for emergency professionals, educators and community groups, alongside awareness initiatives that promote safety and practical knowledge. Its programmes include school-based risk education, first-aid and resuscitation awareness, emergency medical support, and guidance on preparedness and self-protection. The SRPC also shares alerts and advice with the public, including seasonal guidance on hazards such as heavy rain, flooding and accidents.
Through its website, the organisation offers information on civil protection, emergency plans, legislation, fire safety processes, training, recruitment and regional projects. It also provides access to the Madeira civil protection app and information about emergency operations and the 112 service.
