Progetto Amazzone

Progetto Amazzone is a multidisciplinary initiative of Associazione Arlenika ETS, based at Centro Amazzone in Palermo, Italy. It approaches breast cancer not only as a clinical condition but as a human experience, bringing scientific research into conversation with art, theatre, myth and cultural reflection. Its work promotes prevention, awareness and active participation, with a focus on women’s health and the connection between body and mind.

The centre offers free, accessible services for women at different stages of their health journey. These include specialist breast examinations with hospital oncology doctors, personalized nutrition and lifestyle consultations, psychological support for patients and families, body-awareness and movement workshops, information on environmental and climate-related risk factors, and listening sessions led by women with personal experience of cancer.

Progetto Amazzone also organizes scientific seminars, conferences, research and education projects, theatre activities, workshops, performances and public programs. Through Spazio Marie Curie, it creates opportunities for dialogue between science and the humanities; Spazio MigraTeatro uses theatre as a space for expression and care.
