About CHEK Project
CHEK is a Horizon2020-funded project by the European Union, committed to achieving zero-emission shipping by revolutionizing current ship design and operations. The project will feature two cutting-edge vessel designs: a wind energy-optimized bulk carrier and a hydrogen-powered cruise ship. These vessels will integrate innovative technologies like hydrogen/LNG engines, air lubrication systems, and waste heat recovery systems to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 99% and achieve substantial energy savings.
By developing a unique Future-Proof Vessel (FPV) Design Platform, CHEK ensures maximum synergy between technologies for real operational benefits, considering the actual profiles of ships. The project's goal is to impact global shipping by deploying these solutions across various vessel types, playing a vital role in decarbonizing the shipping industry. Stay tuned for updates on CHEK's progress in transforming the future of sustainable shipping.
