About Project DISCOVER
DISCOVER is an innovative project dedicated to fostering Community Energy Projects (CEPs) across Europe. The initiative addresses common barriers that often impede the progress of CEPs, such as limited knowledge, financial access, and network connections. By providing a suite of support services, DISCOVER aims to streamline the process for CEP promoters, offering guidance, simplifying decision-making, and interconnecting stakeholders.
Through its structured approach, DISCOVER seeks to initiate over 20 new community energy projects, generate approximately 3 GWh/year of renewable energy, and attract significant investments exceeding 7.7 million euros. The project operates in five pilot regions—Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, and Italy—where it establishes One Stop Shops to serve as hubs for guidance on technical, economic, and legal aspects of CEPs. Additionally, DISCOVER publishes comprehensive guidebooks tailored to regional needs, ensuring that stakeholders are well-equipped with the knowledge necessary for successful energy initiatives.
