About Project dldl
Project DLDL/ድልድል is a brand that aims to create impactful interventions in gender and development from a decolonial perspective. Led by Dr. Romina Istratii, a renowned decolonial researcher and practitioner, the project focuses on developing people-centred and religio-culturally sensitive initiatives.
Dr. Istratii leads the research, sensitization, and knowledge-exchange activities while fostering trust-based relationships with partners and stakeholders. Ms.
Estela Papagianni serves as the part-time project manager. The team also includes a postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Linda Mshweshwe, and a group of associated and community-based researchers.
Project DLDL/ድልድል collaborates with various organizations including Aksum University, St Frumentius Abba Selama Kessate Berhan Theological College, Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association (EWLA), and more. The project benefits from the support of Professors Parveen Ali and Gene Feder from UK-based universities. With an advisory board consisting of experts from different sectors, Project DLDL/ድልድል ensures strategic direction and maximum impact in each study context.
