Project Gaia is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating energy poverty by increasing access to sustainable cooking fuels. They promote clean cookstoves powered by alcohol fuels, which are clean, safe, and efficient. Through the establishment of locally-owned microdistilleries, Project Gaia helps communities become energy independent.

Their mission is driven by the belief that investing in clean energy has a resounding impact on family health, empowers women and girls, reduces deforestation, and mitigates harmful environmental emissions. What sets Project Gaia apart is their commitment to promoting truly clean technology. They endorse good quality ethanol stoves, such as the Cleancook Stove and the Blue Flame Stove, which virtually eliminate household air pollution and significantly reduce emissions.

These stoves, in combination with clean-burning alcohol, have successfully improved the health and vitality of communities worldwide. Additionally, the non-pressurized and spill-proof design of these stoves minimizes the risk of burns and fires, making them extremely safe. Project Gaia works on multiple fronts, including raising awareness of the benefits of alcohol fuels, displacing traditional polluting fuels through community-based projects, creating jobs by encouraging local manufacture and commercialization of alcohol fuels and appliances, and sharing knowledge and resources with various stakeholders to increase energy access
