ProjectGreece

ProjectGreece is an independent audio documentary and cultural project focused on the history of modern Greece. Its first series, The History of Greece, 1800–Today, presents the country’s past in a clear chronological narrative, tracing developments across 226 years through 20 episodes. The series aims to explain events in accessible language while maintaining a measured, evidence-based approach and acknowledging different perspectives rather than relying on simplistic conclusions.

ProjectGreece supports its storytelling with sources, bibliography and more than 680 documented reference points, while clearly distinguishing areas of uncertainty. The episodes cover key periods and turning points, from the ideas and networks preceding the Greek Revolution to the founding of the modern state and later historical events. Each episode is approximately 25 minutes long. The website provides episode information, a chronology, details about the project’s methodology and background, and contact information. Greek-language pages and English summaries are available from the project’s first release, making its account of Greece’s modern history accessible to audiences in both languages.
