About Project Maji
Project MAJI is a non-profit social enterprise that aims to transform lives by providing sustainable and effective solar-powered water solutions. As a water donation NGO, they empower individuals to make a difference by donating clean drinking water to rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. The inspiration behind the organization came from their CEO and Founder, Sunil Lalvani, who witnessed children drinking from a road-side puddle in rural Ghana.
Motivated to help, he used his expertise in consumer electronics to develop and deploy a solar-powered pump that delivers safe water to villages. Since then, Project MAJI has become a pan-African water donation NGO, reaching over 145,000 people in Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda. Their mission is to serve 1 million people in rural communities suffering from water poverty by 2025, using smart technologies.
