Ponte

Ponte is a Portugal-based initiative that connects young refugees with Portuguese society and supports their wellbeing and future opportunities. Since 2020, its team has worked with young people arriving in Portugal, including unaccompanied minors who have come without parents or legal guardians. The organisation seeks to reduce social isolation and help young migrants build skills through educational and community-based support.

Ponte works across formal education and informal learning. Its services include teacher training, consultancy on the inclusion of migrant students, school support, and Portuguese-language instruction, including an A0 programme. It also develops learning materials and organises activities, including extracurricular and digital skills activities. The team identifies and supports young people while coordinating a volunteer network and building the capacity of professionals involved in their lives.

Ponte collaborates with schools, refugee-support organisations and other partners, including UNICEF Portugal and the Portuguese Council for Refugees. It invites individuals and organisations to get involved and help provide young people with support today and better prospects for the future.
