About Unitedwomensingapore
Project Inspire: 5 Minutes to Change the World is an award-winning joint initiative by the Singapore Committee for UN Women and MasterCard. Since its launch in 2011, this program has aimed to empower young change-makers from Asia and the Pacific to create a better world for women and girls. Project Inspire provides a platform for 18-35 year olds to pitch their inspired ideas, with the chance to win a US$25,000 grant.
In 2016, the theme for Project Inspire is 'Empowering Women Through Safety and Security', encouraging participants to showcase ideas that utilize safety and security concepts to empower women. The competition comprises three stages: selection and entitlements, crowdfunding, and the grand final. Top finalists and semi-finalists will receive all-expenses paid trips to Singapore, with the chance to secure additional funding and exclusive access to workshops.
The winners will have the opportunity to implement their projects, making a tangible difference in the lives of women and girls in Asia and the Pacific
