Prom'Haies

Prom’Haies Nouvelle-Aquitaine is an association dedicated to promoting hedgerows and trees outside forests, supporting sustainable development and the Green and Blue ecological network. Active since 1989, it works across the region, with planting-project support available in Charente, Charente-Maritime, Dordogne, Deux-Sèvres, Vienne and Haute-Vienne for eligible agricultural and community projects.

The association advises on planting plans, conducts site visits and assessments, and may help identify potential funding. Its support focuses on native, field-grown species and projects that meet specified size and location criteria. Prom’Haies also provides training for farmers, project leaders, students and local authorities. Courses cover the life cycle of hedgerows, including design, planting, maintenance and sustainable management, as well as agroforestry pruning and fruit-tree grafting.

For municipalities, the association can contribute to ecological management planning, mapping, staff training and public awareness. It shares practical guidance, project examples and current information on hedgerow policy, biodiversity, water quality, soil protection and climate resilience. Prom’Haies is also an administrator of the French association Afac-Agroforesteries.
