Amstel Zomer Festival is a community event brand serving Ouderkerk, bringing residents together through local celebrations and activities. Its best-known event is the Amstel Zomer Festival, described as the organization’s largest and most important event. Proceeds from the festival help make other activities possible, including the Sinterklaas arrival. The program has also featured a Christmas market, Oktoberfest at Paardenburg, the Amstel Zomer Concert, and events connected with local seasonal and community traditions.

The organization’s activities depend on sponsorship and the voluntary, unpaid contributions of a large group of volunteers. Sponsors help fund the events, while volunteers support their delivery for the community. The site also shares event photographs, information about past and upcoming activities, and announcements about changes to the program. During the Coronavirus restrictions described on the site, planned events in Ouderkerk—including the Liberation Day lunch and Amstel Zomer Festival—were cancelled, with events prohibited at least until 1 June at that time. Through its events and community partnerships, Amstel Zomer Festival supports local gathering and celebration.
