Pro Nederlandistica

Pro Nederlandistica Foundation is a Hungary-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting and promoting the Dutch language and Dutch-language culture, arts, and scholarship in Hungary and Europe. Its work brings together research, education, publishing, and cultural exchange, with a particular focus on Dutch, Flemish, and Afrikaans language and literature.

The foundation publishes scholarly and popular academic works in Hungarian, Dutch, and English, including the Néderlandisztikai Füzetek series, and supports translations of Dutch- and Flemish-language literature into Hungarian through its Akcentusok series and other publications. It also encourages research in Dutch studies and shares findings through books, articles, essays, and other forums.

Its programs include conferences, workshops, study days, lectures, cultural festivals, summer universities, author visits, book launches, and reading-club activities. The foundation also fosters Hungarian-Dutch and Hungarian-Flemish connections, including collaboration with university departments in Groningen and Antwerp, and supports research and outreach related to Afrikaans. Based in Budapest, it provides a platform for scholarship, learning, and cultural engagement across these language communities.
