Propp-Stiftung

The Propp Foundation is a charitable foundation based in Lübeck, Germany, established by Silvia M. and Klaus-Michael Propp and recognised as a legal entity by Schleswig-Holstein’s Ministry of the Interior on 8 June 2010. Guided by the founders’ personal commitment, it supports children and young people in education, training and upbringing through project funding, donations and practical assistance.

Its work includes the Schlutup Apple Garden, a teaching garden used by Willy-Brandt School and community groups for hands-on learning about nature, plants, sustainability and food growing. The foundation has helped fund facilities there and supports plans for a greenhouse. In partnership with the Zwergenkombüse, it also helps provide children’s cooking classes covering seasonal meals and practical food skills. Other initiatives include a learning site for students who need additional behavioural support, a Baroque bassoon for Lübeck’s University of Music, and ongoing assistance to Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. and the Lübeck women’s shelter. In individual cases, the foundation funds language lessons for students preparing to study abroad through Erasmus.
