About PROSEU Project
PROSEU is an innovative EU-funded research project dedicated to mainstreaming the Renewable Energy (RE) prosumer phenomenon across Europe. It unites eleven partners from seven countries, including universities, research institutes, and non-governmental organizations, to explore how individuals and communities can actively produce and consume renewable energy. The project addresses the transforming landscape of energy markets and regulatory challenges posed by the growth of RE prosumerism.
Through collaborative efforts in various "Living Labs," PROSEU investigates new business models, market regulations, and technological integrations while focusing on inclusivity and transparency in energy transitions. Highlighted tasks include extensive research and groundwork in policy and governance led by organizations like ClientEarth and IÖW, as well as financial and business model development from partners such as Leuphana University and the University of Leeds. Running from March 2018 to February 2021, PROSEU aims to build a robust knowledge framework to facilitate the integration of RE prosumers into the European Energy Union, promoting sustainability and citizen engagement.
