About Protect
Protect is a brand that provides protection for whistleblowers under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA). Whistleblowers who raise concerns about wrongdoing in their workplace are safeguarded against negative treatment or unfair dismissal. PIDA, which is part of the Employment Rights Act 1996, grants day one rights to workers, meaning they do not require two years of service to be protected.
Protect extends its protection to employees, contractors, trainees, and agency staff who make a protected disclosure. They offer free and confidential advice on whistleblowing, which can be accessed through their Advice Line or contact form. Protect educates individuals about whistleblowing and provides practical guidance on raising concerns internally or externally.
