Protezione del Gatto

Associazione Protezione del Gatto ODV is a volunteer-led animal welfare association that has worked to protect cats in the Modena area since 1975. Based in Marzaglia, it initially focused on feline welfare in the Municipality of Modena and later extended its efforts to nearby communities, including Bastiglia, Castelfranco Emilia, Castelnuovo Rangone, Nonantola and San Cesario sul Panaro. Although its agreement to manage the intermunicipal cat shelter ended in January 2022, the association continues its mission across the province.

The association welcomes adult cats and kittens in difficulty, providing food, veterinary care and a safe environment while seeking responsible adoptions and loving homes. Volunteers also organize food collection initiatives to support the cats in their care. In addition, the association offers guidance to people with questions about caring for their own cats or cats they encounter. Its work includes supporting the responsible management of feline colonies in accordance with public health and safety requirements. People can help through donations, including PayPal, bank transfer or Italy’s 5x1000 tax contribution, or by volunteering.
