Prouse Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac is a renowned dealership that has a rich history and a passion for automobiles. The founder, Franklin Prouse, initially had a love for ships and the water. While working as a waiter on the Canadian Pacific passenger vessel Keewatin during his UTS years, he fell in love with Sault Ste.
Marie where the ship stopped frequently. After graduating from Royal Canadian Naval College in Victoria B. C, Frank opened his first GM Dealership in Acton, Ontario in 1956.
In 1962, he seized the opportunity to own the Pontiac Buick store in Sault Ste. Marie and opened it at the current Western Tire store location. Over the years, the business grew, leading to several relocations until Frank and his wife, Nora, settled into their current location on Great Northern Road in 1980.
