Proxy38

ProxYdiab38 is a nonprofit association founded in 2009 to help people with type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes better manage their condition and improve their wellbeing. Based in La Tronche, near Grenoble, it brings together a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, a dietitian-nutritionist, an adapted physical activity instructor, a diabetologist, and a trained patient resource. The association complements hospital and community medical care, offering information, practical guidance, and supportive listening without replacing patients’ usual doctors.

After an initial individual meeting to identify needs and choose suitable activities, participants can take part in group or one-to-one workshops, with the option to follow a personalized pathway again later. Topics include understanding diabetes and treatments, nutrition, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring, insulin, stress management, smoking cessation, and everyday life with diabetes. Workshops also address subjects such as food labels, meal planning, travel, and emotional skills. ProxYdiab38 provides a welcoming space where participants can ask professionals questions, share experiences, build confidence, and take practical steps to support their health.
