Prøysenhuset is a cultural destination dedicated to the life, writing and enduring legacy of Norwegian author and songwriter Alf Prøysen. Visitors can explore his childhood home and discover his work through experiences and activities offered throughout the year. The venue welcomes families, individuals and groups for concerts, theatre, seasonal celebrations and other events inspired by Prøysen’s world.
Its programme includes family activities, regular gatherings and special performances, including the beloved Christmas production Snekker Andersen og Julenissen. Visitors can also enjoy recurring events such as quiz evenings, walks with lunch and baby singing, as well as cake buffets accompanied by Prøysen songs and communal singing.
Kafé Julie serves homemade food and refreshments, including weekend meals, baked cakes, coffee and tea. The café also hosts festive meals and gatherings for families, businesses and other groups. A shop and the café can be visited without an admission ticket, while entry prices and annual passes are available for the main venue.
