About PSC
PSC_CUNY is a union that represents 30,000 faculty and staff at the City University of New York (CUNY) and the CUNY Research Foundation. Their mission is to advance the professional lives of their members, improve their terms and conditions of employment, and uphold the educational excellence of the nation's largest urban public university. As a union, PSC_CUNY negotiates, administers, and enforces collective bargaining agreements, protects staff rights through the grievance and arbitration process, engages in political advocacy on behalf of CUNY staff and students, and advocates for the interests of instructional staff.
They also provide benefits and services to members through organizations like the PSC/CUNY Welfare Fund and New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). PSC_CUNY is affiliated with reputable organizations such as the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the AFL-CIO, New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), and the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). They also collaborate with the NYC Central Labor Council (CLC), the Municipal Labor Committee (MLC), the Working Families Party, and the CUNY Rising Alliance.
