About The Psychological Society of Ireland
The Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) is the learned and professional body for psychology and psychologists in the Republic of Ireland. Established in 1970 with 17 members, it has grown to represent more than 2,900 members. The Society supports the profession through membership services that offer professional recognition, networking, and opportunities for learning and development. It also provides information and resources for the public, practitioners, and students, including an online directory to help people find psychologists recognised by PSI as Chartered Members.
PSI promotes discussion and knowledge-sharing across the discipline through events, news, publications, and its blog, which features perspectives from Society staff and members on emerging issues in psychology. Its activities include an annual conference, professional groups, advocacy, press releases, and the development of guidelines, policies, and papers. The organisation also lists accredited courses and career opportunities, and offers videos, podcasts, and topical resources. Based in Dublin, PSI is a registered charity in Ireland.
