Psychs in Schools

Psychs in Schools is an Australian provider of evidence-based mental health and psychology support for school students. The organisation places mental health professionals within schools, helping students, educators, wellbeing teams and communities access coordinated support in the settings where students learn. It has served more than 100 schools across Victoria and reports supporting over 2,000 students.

Its services include on-site school psychology, student referrals and assessments, evidence-based counselling and interventions, and progress tracking to inform care. Psychs in Schools uses a co-therapy model in which senior and provisional psychologists work together. It also provides training to help educators support student wellbeing, along with resources and support for parents and carers. Its Feedback Informed Treatment approach uses ongoing feedback to monitor students’ progress.

For psychology students, the organisation offers school-based placements, structured learning, and experience with real cases alongside experienced psychologists. Placement resources include training in approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
