PsyStandard is a professional initiative focused on developing shared standards for psychedelic practice and supporting practitioners committed to them. Co-designed with contributors from research, harm reduction, clinical and non-clinical practice, and Indigenous lineages, its framework addresses the interconnected elements of responsible practice, including ethics, safety, preparation, legal awareness, competence, setting, integration, and professional boundaries.
The organisation brings together a developing practice standard and a membership community intended to help practitioners uphold and improve their work. Membership offers monthly peer intervision circles, supervision from recognised specialists, continuing development, practical templates and resources, peer accountability, and a code of conduct. Applicants are reviewed before joining circles, and members agree to PsyStandard’s code.
PsyStandard is preparing a verification process for clinical and non-clinical practitioners, including coaches, facilitators, integration specialists, and therapists. The assessed process is expected to involve credential review, a structured call, and observed practice against published criteria. Verified practitioners will be subject to ongoing supervision, peer accountability, and annual review.
