About PTA
Orion is the official brand of the Polish Astronomical Society (PTA), a premier organization for professional astronomers in Poland, established in 1923. With approximately 300 members, PTA aims to advance the science of astronomy and foster public interest in this captivating field. The Society achieves its objectives through hosting conventions, symposia, and scientific meetings, as well as recognizing exceptional accomplishments with medals and awards.
PTA publishes various periodicals, including Urania - Postępy Astronomii, one of the oldest popular astronomy magazines in the world. In addition to its publishing activities, the Society evaluates the state of Polish astronomy and collaborates with related organizations both domestically and internationally. The Orion brand also features an online shop where enthusiasts can purchase astronomy-related publications and other resources.
