The Polish Anthropological Society (PTA) is an interdisciplinary scholarly organisation founded in Poznań on 12 November 1925, with Professor Adam Wrzosek as its first president. Today, it brings together around 200 members across local branches, including anthropologists and researchers in fields such as archaeology, sociology, education, psychology, medicine and physical culture. The Society is part of the Federation of Polish Scientific Societies and supports the exchange of knowledge and experience among people who study humanity.

PTA organises a national scientific conference every two years, alongside recurring scientific and public-facing events. Its activities include the Gniezno-Lednica Funeralia and the National Student Anthropological Conference (OSKA), as well as workshops and other scholarly gatherings. The Society also publishes Anthropological Review, its English-language journal issued since 1997, and an annual electronic bulletin covering Society and branch news. Through its publications, recommendations, podcasts, historical resources and member network, PTA promotes anthropological research, professional collaboration and public engagement with the discipline. It also provides information about membership and supports retired employees.
