PTMyk

The Polish Mycological Society (PTMyk) is an organization dedicated to the study, appreciation, and protection of fungi in Poland. It brings together members working across mycology and supports collaboration through specialist sections, including groups focused on fungal diversity and conservation, and on micromycetes in health, the environment, and industry. The Society shares research and information through projects and publications, including the scientific journal Acta Mycologica, and provides resources such as a database of Polish fungal names and a broader Society database.

Its work also includes promoting recommended Polish names for fungi and raising awareness of fungal conservation. PTMyk organizes and publicizes conferences, field sessions, workshops, and other events that connect researchers, members, and the wider public. Recent activities have included field exploration in the Sierakowski Landscape Park and the MycoWroc national conference.

The Society also highlights new research, supports initiatives related to fungal knowledge, and invites interested people to join. Based in Warsaw, PTMyk serves as a national platform for mycological research, education, exchange, and public engagement
