PTSD Hub is an app that was developed in 2017, it offers peer coping strategies for people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). With over 13,000 downloads through the App Store and the Play Store it has been utilised by many, many people in their understanding of PTSD. It is currently in redevelopment until November 2025 in order to ensure a better user experience. By connecting the existing app with AI, users will be able to gain personalised coping strategies whilst waiting for further mental health support. When PTSD symptoms hit, waiting months for therapy isn't an option. PTSD Hub will attempt to deliver immediate, AI-powered support based on real coping strategies that have helped others. Built on Manchester University research and first hand experience, our platform will look to transform proven peer support methods into instant, accessible help - exactly when people need it most. Our founder, Nicola was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in 2011 after a traumatic event in 2009. She had never heard of it and had no idea what the symptoms were or how to deal with how she was feeling. Living in the U.K. and due to a lot of cuts in the mental health field, she was awaiting support for 18 months before being offered therapy. During this time, she was alone in dealing with the different elements of PTSD and didn’t know anyone else with the same diagnosis. She doesn’t want anyone else to feel this way, and so, after many years of treatment, decided to develop this app so that she could share not only her ways of coping, but also strategies from other people.
