Puheverstas is a speech therapy service for children and young people, providing carefully planned, child-centred support tailored to each client. Led by Laura Peljamo, a licensed speech therapist with a Master of Arts degree, the practice draws on professional experience dating from her qualification in 2007. Her background includes work in municipal services and private companies, as well as experience with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Therapy is built around individually agreed, realistic goals and takes place in a safe, supportive environment. Children practise skills that they may find challenging through enjoyable activities, including games and play, helping make learning engaging and encouraging a sense of achievement. Puheverstas also emphasises cooperation with a child’s home, daycare centre or school, recognising that shared support is important to progress.
The practice aims to help children learn and take in new skills through an approach suited to their needs. Puheverstas is based in Sipoo, Finland. Families can contact Laura by email or telephone to enquire about the speech therapy services.
