About Purple House Cancer Centre
Purple House Cancer Centre is Ireland's first community-based Cancer Support Centre, founded in 1990. As a registered charity, they offer a range of professional support services to individuals affected by Cancer. Their services include Cancer Support & Psycho-Oncology services, catering to patients, survivors, carers, families, friends, and healthcare workers of all ages throughout Ireland.
Purple House helps over 1,500 families each year, providing practical help, emotional support, counselling, psychotherapy, bereavement counselling, support groups, classes, workshops for children, and complementary therapies. They operate from three locations: their Cancer Support Centre in Bray, a virtual Centre called 'Purple House @ Home' that offers remote services, and Outreach Cancer Support Clinics in The Lexicon Library in Dun Laoghaire. Purple House relies on fundraising and donations to fund their services and works in partnership with the HSE, the medical profession, and other agencies.
