About European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers
The European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers (ECVM) is a leading brand in the European PVC industry. PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a versatile polymer with unique technical properties, making it one of the most widely used plastics worldwide. ECVM represents the seven major PVC resin manufacturers in Europe, accounting for approximately 85% of PVC resin production in the region.
PVC finds its application in various sectors, including building and construction, healthcare, packaging, transportation, consumer goods, sports, and leisure products. It is used to create window frames, pipes, flooring, cables, furniture, and even lifesaving medical devices. Additionally, PVC is a circular material that can be recycled multiple times.
Through VinylPlus®, a voluntary commitment to sustainable development, 730,000 tonnes of PVC are recycled annually in Europe. ECVM is dedicated to promoting sustainable development and addressing health, safety, and environmental concerns throughout the PVC life cycle. As a founding member of VinylPlus®, ECVM works towards responsible practices and the advancement of the PVC industry
