Pleasant View Communities

Pleasant View is a renowned brand that offers exceptional retirement living and care services. The brand has a rich history, dating back to its founding in 1955 by three remarkable women. Edna Hoffer, inspired by a friend's act of kindness, along with Grace Barto and Esther Henry, envisioned a nurturing home for seniors in need. They purchased a piece of land in Manheim and constructed a nursing home, with Esther Henry taking charge of its operations.

As time passed, Pleasant View adapted to evolving industry regulations and expanded its offerings. In 1972, it became a non-profit organization, appointing a volunteer Board of Directors. Renovations and new construction projects followed, including personal care, apartments, cottages, specialized units for residents with dementia, and a core building. In 1993, the organization transformed into a continuing care retirement community and was renamed Pleasant View Retirement Community.

With a renewed vision in 2016, Pleasant View embarked on a strategic planning process, focusing on enhancing impact, community engagement, and innovation. Future plans include new residency options, education-focused programs, and projects on the Hoffer Farm.

As a leader in the industry, Pleasant View Communities continues to evolve, providing residents with exceptional care, a vibrant community, and a fulfilling retirement experience.
