About Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Indonesia
PWYP Indonesia is a civil society coalition dedicated to promoting transparency and accountability in the extractive sector, including mining, oil & gas, and natural resources. Their mission is to achieve the welfare of the Indonesian people by ensuring transparent, accountable, participatory, and sustainable governance of extractive and other natural resources. The organization offers various programs and activities to fulfill its agenda.
These include research projects, discussions, workshops, and a learning center. They also provide valuable resources such as policy briefs, reports, books, infographics, newsletters, podcasts, and videos through their PWYP Knowledge Forum and media platforms. One of their key initiatives is the DiscloseTheDeal project, which aims to advance contract transparency in Indonesia.
Under this project, all contracts governing the exploitation of natural resources should be publicly disclosed, allowing the public to monitor them closely. PWYP Indonesia actively engages with global stakeholders and partners to strengthen the governance of the oil and gas, mineral, and coal sectors. Their ultimate goal is to empower organizations and coalitions towards transparent, fair, and sustainable resource governance
