QC Anime-zing!

Anime-zing! is a three-day convention celebrating Japanese arts, anime fandom, and the wider otaku community. Held in Rock Island, Illinois, near the Iowa border, its 2027 event is scheduled for August 6–8. The convention brings fans together for anime screenings, discussions, autograph signings, cosplay, karaoke, gaming, and group meetups. Its programming welcomes communities around anime series as well as comics, science fiction, and video games. Attendees can also explore a dealers hall and meet special guests, including actors, entertainers, and cosplayers.

Anime-zing! offers weekend, platinum, and single-day admission options. Platinum passes include early access to main events, while day passes cover specified hours on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The event also invites visitors to participate by submitting a panel, volunteering, or supporting its charity activities. AnimeCon.org describes its Friday and Saturday night dances as featuring giant subwoofers and light shows, with experienced technicians supporting the event’s concerts and presentations. The convention shares updates about guests and activities through its email newsletter.
