About نادي قطر للسباق والفروسية
The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) is a national organisation dedicated to developing horse racing and equestrian activities in Qatar. Established in the early 1960s and officially opened to the public in 1975, QREC promotes Thoroughbred and Purebred Arabian racing, organises Arabian horse shows, and encourages owners to care for and race quality horses to support horse production. Its facilities include a racing grandstand, training stables, a farrier section, an equine veterinary hospital, a horse swimming pool and a riding school.
The club also provides horse transportation and supports owners, trainers and breeders through services such as horse registration, stud books, trainer licensing, auctions and online services. QREC’s programme encompasses a seasonal racing calendar, race statistics, handicap ratings, rules and steward reports, alongside horse-show calendars, entries and archived results. Its media centre publishes racing news, videos and photographs.
QREC also promotes Qatar’s racing internationally, including through events and partnerships associated with the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe
