The Quantum Flagship is a pioneering initiative supported by the European Commission, designed to advance research and innovation in quantum technologies. Launched in October 2018 with a funding commitment of at least one billion euros over ten years, it aims to establish Europe as a leader in this groundbreaking field. Encompassing more than 5000 researchers across Europe, the Quantum Flagship coordinates over 140 research and innovation proposals that align with its strategic agenda.

The initiative focuses on various applications of quantum technology, including quantum computing, sensing, communication, and simulation, poised to create a "Quantum Web" connecting advanced quantum resources. Additionally, the Quantum Flagship aims to foster a competitive industry, promote scientific excellence, and ensure that Europe remains an attractive hub for business and innovation.

A robust network, known as the Quantum Community Network, facilitates engagement among stakeholders, while working groups address critical areas such as equity and standardization.
