Quad9 is a public and free DNS service that offers enhanced security and privacy for internet users. By replacing your default ISP or enterprise Domain Name Server (DNS) configuration, Quad9 blocks lookups of malicious host names from an up-to-the-minute list of threats. This comprehensive threat blocking action protects your computer, mobile device, or IoT systems from a wide range of risks, including malware, phishing, spyware, and botnets.

In addition to guaranteeing privacy, using Quad9 can also improve overall performance. Operated by the Swiss-based Quad9 Foundation, Quad9 is dedicated to providing a safer and more robust internet experience for everyone. The service routes your DNS queries through a secure network of servers around the globe and uses threat intelligence from leading cybersecurity companies to identify safe websites and block those known to include malware or other threats.

Your privacy is safeguarded, as Quad9 does not log any data containing your IP address, and it complies with GDPR regulations. Quad9 is free to use and can be easily set up on your devices without signing up or providing any personal information. You can also configure your router or Wi-Fi access point to extend protection to all devices on your network, including IoT devices.

Participating in Quad9's service helps contribute to a more secure internet for everyone, and donations are welcome to support their not-for-profit mission
