Quercuscommunity

Quercus Community is a dedicated Community Interest Company focused on providing Green Care and outdoor learning activities. Founded by Julia Wilson and Dave Pearce, the organization emerged from a shared passion for supporting individuals with disabilities, particularly in a nurturing environment that fosters community and growth. Quercus operates primarily on Mondays and Wednesdays, offering engaging programs for clients with learning difficulties, creating an atmosphere that feels more like family than mere participation.

The organization also emphasizes education, having successfully hosted over 800 children on the farm for various educational visits in the past year. Unique experiences include baking with a mobile wood-burning oven and workshops in schools, where they promote nutritional learning through food preparation. Despite recent challenges, including the closure of their original farm location, Quercus remains committed to adapting its approach and maintaining strong community ties. Through these initiatives, they aim to enrich lives and cultivate a deeper connection to nature and learning in the local area.
