**Quintal do Forno** is a historic garden located at the foothills of Serra da Estrela, renowned for its impressive collection of camellias that has remained in the Cabral family since 1886. This cherished garden reflects the family's enduring passion for horticulture and landscape conservation. Alongside its spectacular floral displays, Quintal do Forno is dedicated to studying, conserving, and promoting its rich botanical heritage, particularly plants from the 19th century, documented through original invoices.
In addition to the garden, Quintal do Forno is currently restoring adjacent granite houses for future tourist accommodation, aimed at enhancing cultural tourism while ensuring economic sustainability for the project. The initiative focuses on three core areas: the conservation of historical camellias and associated archives, the promotion of cultural tourism through comfortable and stylish lodging, and environmental stewardship with a commitment to regenerating native species. With plans to open its doors in early 2024, Quintal do Forno invites visitors to experience its vibrant memories and continue the legacy of natural and cultural heritage.
