Quintessential Governess

Quintessential Governess is a specialist household staffing consultancy serving private, VIP and ultra-high-net-worth families in London and internationally. Founded by Georgia Barry, the agency draws on experience in private education, childcare and household management to make carefully considered introductions between families and professionals. Its approach is personal, discreet and relationship-driven, with an emphasis on understanding each household’s values, lifestyle and long-term needs rather than matching on qualifications alone.

The agency recruits across childcare and education, placing governesses, nannies, maternity nurses, tutors, special educational needs specialists and other education professionals. It also sources housekeepers, butlers, house and estate managers, family assistants, personal and executive assistants, chauffeurs, private and travelling chefs, sommeliers, yacht staff and hospitality teams. For clients, Quintessential Governess offers tailored recruitment and consultancy services, including the Family Insight Package and Complete Harmony Package. Candidate support includes guidance through the placement process. The consultancy prioritises confidentiality, careful candidate assessment and lasting placements, helping families build trusted teams for both family life and household operations.
