Queen Victoria Women’s Centre (QVWC) is a Melbourne-based organisation dedicated to creating space for Victorian women and gender-diverse people to thrive. Its vision is for everyone in these communities to feel welcomed, valued and celebrated, and to have the power to shape their present and future. Guided by inclusion, gender equity and community, the Centre brings people together through events, exhibitions, discussions, workshops and collaborative projects with festivals, community groups and organisations.
QVWC also offers venue hire, providing spaces for events in the heart of Melbourne. Its resident organisations, accessibility resources and volunteering opportunities contribute to the Centre’s broader community focus. The QVWC Shop is a feminist design store featuring ethically made, locally crafted goods by women and gender-diverse artists, designers and makers from across Victoria. The shop celebrates both creative work and the stories behind it.
In describing its community, QVWC includes trans and gender-diverse women and sistergirls. The Centre acknowledges the Wurundjeri and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, on whose lands it is located.
